Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice
celebrates its 40th Anniversary.

To mark the milestone, we asked a number of current and former employees and volunteers why they believe AHCH is such an important community resource. While each answered the question from his or her perspective their responses revealed consistent themes; quality care, highly skilled staff, and strong presence in the community.

  • "We didn't have a roadmap to work from in 1966, which worked in our favor. Visiting nurses were common in urban settings, but had not been attempted successfully in rural areas. From the start we set high standards, from the care we provided to the personnel we hired. When you set high standards, the result is quality. AHCH provides personal professional care that people need and where they want it - at home. That is why the agency is a valuable resource." Dick Hooper, AHCH President/CEO, Board of Directors 1966-1980
  • "AHCH is important to the community and the region because of the essential services it provides. More importantly AHCH is vital to the health of the communities for the care and concern it delivers to area residents as they face new and often difficult life experiences. Mark Adams, Board of Directors 2000-2006, Chair 2006.
