Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice Volunteers Complete Hospice Training |
Lewiston, Maine 4/17/12 - Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice recently graduated 9 Hospice Volunteers from a 27-hour training.
Hospice Volunteers support terminally ill patients and their families in a variety of ways - by visiting and providing companionship, giving a caregiver a break for several hours, doing errands or helping with special projects. Volunteers can support patients in their homes, in long-term care facilities and at the AHCH Hospice House in Auburn. |

Program for Grieving Children & Teens Seeks New Volunteers |
Lewiston, Maine 4/10/12 - The Program for Grieving Children & Teens is announcing its next 30-hour volunteer training for individuals interested in being part of the team for upcoming program sessions. Training begins Monday, April 23rd. The training includes two Saturday sessions: April 28th and May 5th from 8:30am-5pm and four evening sessions: April 23rd, 25th, 30th and May 2nd from 5:00-8:00pm. Classes will be held at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice's Lewiston Office located at 15 Strawberry Avenue. |

Farmington, Maine 3/29/12 - A group of local volunteers, led by Kelley Cullenberg and her sister-in-law Sharon Cullenberg, is bringing the Hospice House 5K Run & Remembrance Walk to Farmington on May 20th. Kelley is the Mt. Blue Boy's and Girl's Head Cross Country and Spring Track & Field Coach and Sharon is the Call Center Manager at NotifyMD. |

Hospice Volunteer Training Class Begins April 3rd in S. Paris |
S. Paris, Maine 3/12/12 - Sheila Bacon, Hospice Volunteer, and resident of Greene started volunteeri ng almost 8 years ago. She kept seeing information in the newspaper offering the training and decided it was time. Sheila says, "I did not realize how much Hospice Volunteering would teach me about people, life, and death. Many people tend to fear death and thanks to the patients I have met, that fear has greatly decreased for me. When you reach out and give of yourself, you receive the gift of joy." |
