Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice Announces June General Volunteer Trainings
Lewiston, Maine 6.11.13 - Volunteer support has been an integral part of Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice's services for 40 years. The Program is now widely recognized as one of the most extensive, non-profit, home health care volunteer programs in Maine.
Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice is pleased to announce that three people completed the General Volunteer training held in May. Those who attended the training include Aisha Ali of Auburn, Elaine Dubois of Auburn and Linda Liberty of Lewiston. General Volunteer training prepares volunteers to visit with patients in our Home Care services who are homebound while they recover from an illness or injury or any other reason requiring home care services. This training also prepares volunteers to work in the office or at the Hospice House as a greeter or kitchen support.
"When I became a volunteer, I never realized what a big impact it would have on my life," states Bob Oliver, Volunteer for Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice. "I started to look at life through the eyes of the caregiver and patient. I then realized just how much a couple of hours of my time were worth to someone else. I love this work."
June General Volunteer Training schedule:
June 14th - Rumford Public Library
June 17th - Winthrop Area Federal Credit Union
June 26th - Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice's Norway Office on 20 Paris Street
