Training for New Volunteers Planned in Lewiston on July 19th
Lewiston, Maine 6/26/12 - In response to increasing needs, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice is seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering to help home care patients and their families. Volunteer opportunities include Visiting, Grocery Shopping, Transportation, Office and Hospice House Greeters.
The training class will focus on volunteer opportunities that support patients receiving home care services as they recover from illness, surgery or a new medical condition, according to Kathy Baillargeon, Volunteer Supervisor. Grocery Volunteers shop and deliver food and medications on a regular basis to patients, Visiting Volunteers provide companionship and share in activities such as reading, card games or music and Transportation Volunteers drive patients to appointments.
The training class will be held on Thursday, July 19th from 9:00am to 3:30pm at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, 15 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston.
