Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice is Offering Home Visiting Volunteer Training in Wilton on June 19th
Wilton, Maine 6/1/12 - "When I became a volunteer, I never realized what a big impact it would have on my life," stated Bob Oliver, a Visiting Volunteer with Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice. "I started to look at life through the eyes of the caregiver and patient. I then realized just how much a couple of hours of my time were worth to someone else. I love this work."
Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice is offering a training class for those individuals who would like to join our volunteer team. The training class will focus on volunteer opportunities that support patients receiving home care services as they recover from illness, surgery or a new medical condition, according to Kathy Baillargeon, Volunteer Supervisor. Visiting Volunteers provide companionship and share in activities such as reading, card games or music.
The training class will be held in Wilton on Tuesday, June 19th from 9:00am - 3:30pm at Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice's Office at 284 Main Street in downtown Wilton.
All volunteers are valued members of the health care team, and are matched with patients in or near their communities. Pre-registration is required for the classes. For more information, contact Volunteer Services at 795-9580 or 1-800-482-7412 ext. 1280.
