Lewiston, Maine 2.6.15 - Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice has been selected for inclusion on the Bangor Savings Bank Foundation's 2015 Community Matters More ballot. As one of 48 Maine organizations listed on the ballot, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice will receive a $1,000 grant and will be in the running for the top award of $5,000.
Through Community Matters More, Maine's largest independent bank offers all Maine residents the opportunity to weigh in on how best to allocate $100,000. Bangor Savings has pledged to give to 68 Maine nonprofit organizations. Last year, over 86,000 Mainers voted in Community Matters More! The voting period takes place during the month of February with winners announced in April.

In 2005, Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice opened Maine's first in-patient hospice facility in Auburn. The Agency is Medicare certified and accredited by The Joint Commission. Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice is Maine's largest independent home health and hospice agency with a service area that encompasses 122 municipalities, plantations and unorganized territories. In 2014, the Agency cared for over 9,000 patients and their families, providing more than 1.3 million in free care to those in need.
Each votes gets Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice one step closer to receiving the $5,000 gift which will be used to ensure patients and their families will receive the highest level of care regardless of their ability to pay.
