Lewiston, Maine 6.17.15 - In April, Bangor Savings Bank announced that Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice (AHCH) was among the winning contestants for their 2015 Community Matters More Campaign. Out of 48 Maine non-profits on the ballot, AHCH was among the 8 that were awarded a $5,000 grant, and the opportunity to expand awareness on their services with a 30-second television advertisement on WCSH-6.
Each year more than 10,000 individuals and their families across 122 communities turn to Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice when they need compassionate, quality care at home. AHCH offers nursing and therapy care after hospitalization, extra support with personal care and household tasks, and hospice care at end of life. The $5,000 grant will help ensure patients and their families, cared for by Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice, receive the highest level of care regardless of ability to pay.
Through Community Matters More, Bangor Savings Bank, Maine's largest independent bank, offered all Maine residents the opportunity to weigh in on how best to allocate $100,000. They pledge to give to 68 Maine non-profit organizations. "This program highlights the commitment and compassion Mainers have for their communities and the essential services provided by our non-profit sector. Each year, when we implement this program we urge Maine people to cast a vote for a cause they care about. And, it is no surprise that each year we see an overwhelming amount of support with thousands of people expressing themselves," said Montgomery-Rice, Bangor Savings Bank President and CEO. Last year, over 86,000 Mainers voted in Community Matters More.
